Iron Man: Extremis

Based on the comic by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, this six-episode motion comic for Marvel Knights Animation was Joël's first extended episodic project — co-directed with Mike Halsey, trading off scenes and covering each other's gaps across episodes ranging from 11 to 20 minutes. The series stayed close to the original book, which is exactly why the runtimes vary so widely from one episode to the next.
